The Peace Department held a Climate & Conflict Convening at Foundation House on September 25th, 2022. This event brought together 8 experts from various fields to discuss how to solve climate-related conflicts across two panels and a breakout session.
The first panel, “Climate & Conflict: The State of the Problem,” was focused on designing practical solutions for sustainable development. Experts examined current climate-driven humanitarian conflict, speaking to three geographical “use cases” where these effects are already felt at the level of catastrophe – India/Pakistan, the MENA region, and several locations sub-Saharan Africa.
The second panel examined the future. “Solutions for People & Planet” covered key areas from water management, food security, to renewable energy.
The Peace Department thanks all the attendees and panelists, from impact investors, non-governmental organizations, family offices, and other experts in the climate space, who contributed to this important discussion.
